Tra House, Orange County, CA: “Twisted Vietnamese Cuisine”

Located in Orange County, About 30 miles South of Los Angeles and less than 5 miles from Disneyland, is Tra House, a Vietnamese fusion restaurant whose name translates to tea house.

I like to make it point whenever I am visiting a new city to ask the locals for recommendations. Southern California has a large Vietnamese population and the Garden Grove area where Tra House is located if fondly referred to as Little Saigon. It so happened that our host was actually from Vietnam, so we asked him to recommend a Vietnamese restaurant, and that’s how a party of four ended up at Tra house for lunch on a work day. Read more

Passerelle Bistro: Where European Sophistication Meets Southern Beauty

One late summer evening, I found myself walking down Main Street in Greenville, South Carolina, in search of a place to eat and retain memories of my first restaurant visit in this charming city. Along the Main Street corridor is a cluster of contemporary restaurants with a wide variety of cuisines to choose from. My heart was set on paying homage to some of the much celebrated southern comfort foods; grits, corn bread, green beans and so forth; However, as I passed the many restaurants my attention was captivated by a boarded sign of a French restaurant called Passerelle Bistro.
